The father of parapsychology has to be the first person who joined the Word para and psychology together and derived that anything para is known as abnormal, or perhaps this is normal. Hence this answer, who can claim fatherhood to an energy field that has found its way into the human field of study or has been named another science like psycho sematic illness which is statistically boxed into a grave and labelled with a number. Now we have spirituality which is in the form of unproven activity and again we just give it a name and try to find a box for it and seen as it is born and put in a box it needs a father? Come on lets cry freedom

While there is some debate in parapsychology circles, most people acknowledge that the father of modern parapsycholgy was Dr. Joseph Banks Rhine. Rhine established a parapsychology research center in the United States at Duke University in the early 20th century. He was one of the first, if not the first investigator to employ scientific laboratory methods and controls in the studies of extrasensory perception and psychokinesis. In this respect, he is thought to be the father of modern parapsychology.
