What is afis?

Automated fingerprint identification is the process of automatically matching one or many unknown fingerprints against a database of known and unknown prints.

A.F.I.S.is a useful TOOL which can assist crime investigators in many areas, such as:

Identifying crime scene suspects

Identifying "liars" (Suspects who give officers a false name)

Identifying deceased parties

Identifying unknown parties (e.g. Alzheimer patients etc.)
