Constantine is recognized as a saint in the Orthodox tradition but not in the Catholic Church. He was responsible for several murders and many other less-than-saintly activities. He knew that all his sins would be washed away at baptism so waited to be baptized until he was on his death bed - just in case he needed to carry out some other nefarious act while he was still living.
