Why isn't Aunt Alexandra in the movie version of To Kill A Mockingbird?

I think that the producers thought that she wasn't that important of a character. I think they made a good choice in this. Putting her in would've made the movie longer. She also didn't add anything to the plot lines, so she wasn't necessary.
