Did the earth have a twin?

There used to be a theory that another, twin Earth could be orbitting the sun, exactly opposite from us and therefore always invisible. In fact because the Earth's orbit is an ellipse, its impossible for a body to orbit the sun and always be invisible.

For now, astronomers and scientists think Venus is Earth's twin.
