Yrd. Regardless of age, mostly starting at the age of twelve, the judge will normally grant the child's wishes. There has to be a reason though, you cant just go into cocurt and say i dont want to live with this person anymore. Some states you have to be 16 in order to just leave. When you are 16 if you want to move with a different parent you can! But any age before that you have to go to court and get a custodial family arrangement. Like if you feel one paretn cares for you more than the other or one oarent is mean to you, emotionally, physically,the judges take all that information into consideration.
