Dr.Aziz, the cave, and A Passage to India are all about a thought process. The cave has a significant role to play in the novel. Adela and Aziz go to the cave together. Aziz, however, is lost and wanders in other direction as Adela walks into the darker cave. She is bewildered by the peace and darkness inside the cave. Anything she speaks returns to her in the form of a reverberation. She cannot watch properly and falls somewhere. She is hurt and loses her conscious. She runs out abruptly and lets other know that Aziz tried to misbehave with her.
For Aziz, it turned out to be nothing less than a misfortune. He does not even know where he was and where Adela went. He is blamed by her and is shocked! For Aziz, in short, the experience of the cave is not good. It is as dark as the cave inside.
