Why does nightfalls happen?

Nightfall occurs due to the rotation of the Earth on its axis. As the Earth spins, different parts of its surface move into and out of direct sunlight, causing the cycle of day and night. When a location rotates away from the sun, it experiences darkness, resulting in night. This rotation takes approximately 24 hours to complete a full cycle.
