Where do water and nutrients go from there?

Once absorbed by plant roots, water and nutrients are transported through the xylem and phloem. Water moves upward to the leaves, where it is used in photosynthesis and helps maintain turgor pressure. Nutrients, meanwhile, are distributed throughout the plant to support growth, development, and metabolic functions.
