See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmospheric_pressure But the pressure ON a person comes from the inside AND the outside. So the pressure caused by the atmosphere ON a person is about zero. One often sees deep sea films where the commentator refers to the crushing pressure of seawater....Not for the animals living in it! They don't feel a thing as long as they don't go zooming up and down too fast.
