Are silencers legal in Indiana

Yes, the following NFA items (as of Jan, 2010) are legal in the state of Indiana.

- Suppressors

- Machine Guns

- Short Barreled Rifles

For a suppressor, you are going to need to find a Class III dealer. You will then fill out an ATF Form 4 in duplicate. You will affix a passport photo to each Form 4. You will then get fingerprinted by an agency in your town authorized to do so. Then, you will get your Chief Law Enforcement Officer to fill out your Form 4 if he approves it. You will then fill out a Certificate of Compliance. Next comes the $200 check to the BATF. You'll put that all in an envelope and mail it to the BATF.
