Why were legos invented?

LEGO was established in 1932 by a Danish father and son. In the beginning, they made simple wooden toys. Legos really became popular after 1947. That's when the company purchased an plastic injection-molding machine. This machine allowed them to mass produce the plastic interlocking Lego bricks that are still used today.
