Are drug addicts pathological liars

There is no standard layout for the nature of a drug 'addict'. Addiction is simply a term that is frequently used incorrectly, used to label frequent drug users or drug users who have used to the point that they experience physical and psychological urges to obtain the drug or obtain something to allow them to do the latter. Drug 'addicts' will frequently lie to get the drug but it ultimately depends on the person and the willpower of that person. Addiction is a highly disputed subject among both the professional and the layman's world.

When someone is addicted to a drug or alcohol they will frequently lie to maintain their addiction. For example they will lie about money, where they were etc. It comes with the territory so to speak. This doesn't mean they are overall liars about everything or overall bad people, they just are trying to continue their addiction. It is a complicated thing to understand.
