What are the responsibilities of the ICS medical unit?

The general responsibilities of the ICS medical unit are:

• development of the Medical Plan,
• obtaining medical aid, transportation for injured and ill incident personnel and
• medical paperwork for incident personnel.

The medical unit may be located in the Logistics Section, as it supports incident personnel, as compared with a medical RESPONSE resource, found in the Operations section, for tending to the sick and injured victims of the incident itself.
