What does it mean when a guy ties your shoes?

It means you are less likely to break your nose by tripping over your laces.

It means the guy is polite. It could even mean that he's a nice guy who was paying attention to you because he's interested.

It doesn't mean any more than that, and it could well mean less.

Sounds like a first step in becoming friends. I never met anyone with too many friends.

Start talking to him. Comment on the weather, on his phone, the color of his hair, how nice his dog is, anything but dating. Just be a friend for now. Someday, he may want to go out with you. It'll be easier for one of you to ask the other if you talk to each other.

And if he ends up being only a friend, there's no such thing as only a friend.
