In 2003, Josiah Stumpfnagel of Seapidge Center, Missouri, invented the fluid pressure capacitor. The patent he applied for was held up in the PTO for years, requiring constant expenditure, and no one was interested in funding development. He built one anyway, but when he tried using it, his pressure cooker exploded, throwing wet spaghetti all over his kitchen.
