Is it illegal to abort in Texas?

As of September 2021, abortion is legal in Texas up to six weeks of pregnancy. However, a new law known as Senate Bill 8 prohibits abortions after six weeks, which is before many people even know they are pregnant. This law is currently being challenged in court.
