If it is a nuclear plant there is a risk of malfunction and radioactive material release.

There is the very unlikely possibility of falling transmission towers and power lines, transformer deterioration and explosion, and the possibility of a terrorist target.

There are also some very few people who are sensitive to electromagnetic waves from nearby power transmission lines. They may have headaches and other symptoms which disappear when they are far enough from the electromagnetic source.
