Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle were collectively known for their significant contributions to the development of Western philosophy. Plato, a student of Socrates, founded the Academy and wrote extensively on topics such as metaphysics, ethics, and politics. Aristotle, a student of Plato, made important contributions to logic, metaphysics, ethics, and many other fields of philosophy. Together, these three philosophers laid the foundation for much of Western philosophical thought.
