James V. Allred (born March 29, 1899 in Bowie, Texas; died September 24, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas) succeeded Miriam A. Ferguson as the thirty-third Governor of Texas, serving between January 15, 1935 and January 17, 1939, including the whole of 1937.
