How many people in the Shining Path?

The Shining Path, a Maoist guerrilla group in Peru, peaked in the 1980s and 1990s with an estimated membership of around 10,000 to 15,000 fighters. However, by the early 2000s, due to government crackdowns, this number significantly declined, and estimates suggested a few hundred active members remained. The group's influence has waned considerably since then, though some remnants still exist in isolated regions of Peru.
