Yes the baby can be perfectly healthy and the mother will be fine to. Herpes isn't often passed while the baby is in the womb.

Usually doctors give the mother safe antiviral medication to take a few weeks before the baby is due. If the mother doesn't have any signs or symptoms of a break out she can deliver naturally with very little risk of passing herpes to the baby.
