What are the ip camera ports for?

you have an ip. But what ports do what? 80 is some kind of web interface. 554 is onvif? whats that? which port is the low res vs high res stream? how does a nvr know there is an alarm? Motion? what ports are mjpeg jpeg 264 or onvif? what sources can explain all this confusing stuff? dhorner@usa.net
