Why do people use cloth shopping bags instead of plastic?

Paper Bags may tear off easily where as Plastic & Leather Bags are Non-Biodegradable which means that they may not decompose naturally. Cloth or Jute Bags are Eco-Friendly as they are Bio-Degradable & Reusable. Many companies like LittleEarthGroup and so on manufacture Jute Bags out of Pure Natural Jute and such bags are also available at a very reasonable price because Jute is a Fabric which is grown in large amounts & thus also available in large amounts.
