Why was the birth rate higher in America that in Europe in the 1700s?

Agricultural Productivity was much higher because of the fertility of the soil and a much longer growing season. Land was much more available for settlement. The incidence of diseases that killed thousands in Europe was lower because the farms and settlements were more spread out and separated and the poeple were healthier
