What are the advantages and disadvantages of reversing thermometer?

Advantages: Can measure the maximum temperature reached during a period; no need to constantly monitor the temperature; suitable for applications requiring monitoring of peak temperatures.

Disadvantages: Cannot measure the current temperature; once reset, the maximum temperature reading is lost; limited usefulness for continuous temperature monitoring.
