Dogs, like all living organisms, are considered open systems. They exchange energy and matter with their environment, taking in food and oxygen while expelling waste and carbon dioxide. This interaction allows them to grow, reproduce, and maintain homeostasis. In contrast, a closed system would not exchange matter with its surroundings.
