The best weapon class for a zombie apocolypse would be the rifle. These guns are common and among the cheapest of guns (besides the common handgun) and boast high range. Though rifles do not have a high rate of fire, that doesnt matter, as the only way to kill a zombie is to destroy its brain. Destroying does not mean totally turning it to mush, but putting somthing such as a blade or bullet, through it. There are some drawbacks, however, to using a rifle. One is noise. Say your walking along on a broken sidewalk then suddenly you see 3 Zombies coming your way. "No big deal" you may think to yourself as you raise your gun to fire. BOOM BOOM, two shots ring out and two of the zombies drop dead. As the third one gets close to you and you bash its brains out with the butt of your gun. Then, as you finish more zombies start coming, attracted by the sound of your gun fire.Then more and more come until your killed. This situation will undoubtably happen unless you are A. sniping the zombies from a safe, high point, or, B, you are in a surely deserted area in which the zombie count is very low. And you should never carry just one weapon class. Two is the ideal number. A ideal second weapon is something light and silent, such as a hunting knife or silenced pistol.
