How do you move to apartment?

Moving into a new apartment can seem overwhelming, but with some organization and planning ahead, it can go off without a hitch. Here are some steps to moving into your apartment safely. 1. Call your utility, telephone, cable/satellite and internet providers about transferring service to your new address.

2. Collect all of the moving supplies like boxes, markers, tape and other packing materials.

3. Purge all of the things you do not need to move; eliminate extra plastics, worn out items.

4. Hire a moving company that is trustworthy and reliable, unless you plan on moving the items yourself. 5. Scour your old apartment.

6. Collect all of your keys together and give them to the landlord. Have the locks changed at your new home or apartment immediately. 7. Transport all your possessions into the new apartment. 8. Tell your service providers you have moved into the new apartment, and test to see that all utilities are working properly.

9. Complete a walkthrough, including taking pictures of the condition of the apartment. You should do this both upon moving in and moving out.

9. Test smoke detectors to see if they are working, and get to know your neighbors.
