How quickly will xanax show up on a drug test?

I hope I can help someone like me. I have been taking 2-3 mgs xanax for a bout two weeks . I stopped 24hrs before my drug test, HOPING that drinking like 200-300 ounces of water would help. IT DID! I am on parole and would have gone back for 45 days. Water simply dilutes the drug test. If you are going to a lab, or blood screening, this may not work, but it did for the urine test. I have read and learned through educated friends that you can pretty much "dilute" your urine with lots of water and show almost any drug undetectable.
