If you divide your age by 2 and add 7, that is the youngest you should date.

(x/2)+7

If you subtract 7 from your age and then double it, that is the oldest you should date.

2(x-7)

Its not a flawless system but it does make sense, it sets 14 as a reasonable age to start dating, and it keeps things from getting too crazy.
