Las Vegas New Mexico Fire Department is one of the lowest PAID FIRE DEPARTMENTS in the United States! Starting salary is $7.50 an hour to start with an annual pay raise of .07 cents. Upon completion of the Fire Academy in Socorro N.M. a FIREFIGHTER will receive a 4% raise. After EMT-Basic licensure is obtained it is a mere 4%.
