What is something that is much more luxurious than necessary?

Living in a developed nation like the United States, we buy a lot of items just for luxury than necessity. For example, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and even the Mercedes car! Cell phones can be necessary, but buying an I Phone or Blackberry is not. We all need something to carry our supplies in, but buying a thousand dollar Juicy Couture or Shanelle bag is certainly not necessary! There are many, many things Americans for entertainment or show. For example, play systems such as an Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, or even your ordinary Video Games. Jewelry is one of the biggest luxuries of all; rings, bracelets, earrings, or even up scale watches. Even some of the food we eat is used more for luxury than necessity; we do not need ice cream, cake, donuts, or even twinkies! In other countries in the world, consuming meat is seen as a luxury that the wealthy consume. Having hot water or new fridges are even a luxury; we can live without it, but we buy luxuries because we can!
