Where the first monkey happen?

The first monkeys are believed to have evolved in Africa or Asia around 40 million years ago. These early primates are part of a group known as Platyrrhines, or New World monkeys, which later spread to various regions. Over time, different species adapted to diverse environments, leading to the wide variety of monkey species we see today.
