Weetabix, then called Weet-bix, was invented by Bennison Osborne in Australia in 1925, and taken around the world by him (New Zealand, South Africa, Great Britain, etc). When a factory was established in the UK in 1935, the name was changed to Weetabix. The history of this has been documented by one of his daughters at the link below. It is still sold as Weet-bix in Australia.
