What birds do not fly?

Penguins are swimmers rather than fliers. In other birds, such as the emu, ostrich, and roadrunner, the emphasis is on running, and the wings are not developed enough for flight. Chickens and turkeys, although they can fly, are too large to maintain flight for very long.
