What are the uses of siphoning?

Siphoning has many uses, some of which are:- in toilets, some of which use siphoning

- in gardening, when transporting water

- when transporting petrol from one car to another

- in the underneath of sinks, siphoning and inverted siphoning takes place in the tube

- when draining a lake to move the water somewhere else
