Why is the method of combining calcium carbonate with sulfuric acid is not suitable for the preparation of carbon dioxide?

This is because during the reaction of sulphuric acid and calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate is produced which is an insoluble substance ,as a result carbon dioxide gets trapped in this precipitate hence no further production of the gas
