Who would be king if Edward VIII did not abdicate?

It's difficult to give a definitive reply about a 'what if' that never happened so some assumptions have to be made.

He died in 1972 without issue (ie, no children). As his brother (George VI) died in 1952, then the current Queen Elizabeth II would have succeeded to the throne.
