Is being a firefighter a career possibility why or why not?

If you live in a big city (New York/Chicago) then yes. The pay is not great but it's usually enough to just get by.

If you don't live in a big city then no. Chances are your local fire department is a volunteer organization. I encourage everyone to be a firefighter whether paid or volunteer. It's feels great to help your community and it's fun as hell!
