When did golden gate bridge fall?

The Golden Gate Bridge did not fall or fail in any respect. However, the nearby Bay Bridge lost part of its upper deck during the Loma Prieta Earthquake on October 17, 1989. Since then, additional damage has occurred to the Bay Bridge during construction for the earthquake retrofit.
