How do you stop cb radio from over modulation?

Over-modulation is usually the result of setting the transmit-audio level too high,

so the first thing to try is either to turn down the mic-gain or else stop shouting

into the microphone.

The question is a good illustration of why the FCC doesn't allow home-made CB equipment

to be used by unlicensed operators.
