What leads to a cold car engine misfiring?

If the vehicle runs better when it heats up then several things need to be checked. A cracked ignition coil may seal up when heated. same thing with plug wires. Also check the choke system. The choke could be sticking and cause rough starts, simulating a misfire by running rough.
