Several characters of The Bible go by the name 'Joel'. The most commonly referenced is Joel the prophet, author of the Book of Joel and mentioned one in the Old Testament. Although Joel is no longer living, having passed away many years ago, he is believed to have been buried in the town of Gush Halav, now known as Jish, a settlement in the Galilee region of Israel. Therefore, it is logical that the most prominent Joel character from the Bible is now located in the nation of Israel.
