Should you use a sand or saltwater system for your intex above ground pool?

Most definitly. I had a salt water system installed in March of 2008. and still use my sand filterit works great. No problem at all. I use inexpensive water softener salt, 40lb bag, I try and keep a record of my system reading and keep it within the original settings that was in use when it was set up. The water is like smooth diamond. Crystal clear. The only thing I had to do was backwash to clear out the pollen and leaves. After that I added salt, about 2 bags, after I shut the generator off for about 24hrs. Then turning it on and checking the readings. WoW This is a great thing. Less work and more Play.
