Is melaleuca the wellness co a scam?

The company is certainly not a scam, and most people rave about their products, but buying from them may not be for everyone.

To find a reputable company when doing business, a good place to start is with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has awarded Melaleuca with an A rating, and the BBB says Melaleuca has been BBB accredited since 1987.

Here is more information I've found looking into the company:

Melaleuca, Inc. also known as Melaleuca, The Wellness Company, was founded in 1985 with products focusing on safer, more natural ingredients, and home cleaning products without the use of bleach or harsh chemicals. The company has reported sales in excess of $900 Million annually, has been awarded into the Inc. 500 hall of fame.

The company also has a customer referral program which rewards customers for referring other customers - similar to the old BMG music club, but rewards with money rather than free product.

Melaleuca has been recognized for their business ethics and community contributions, some of which appear to include:

Although they have a reputation for great products, they may not be someones first choice to buy from, as the products cannot be purchased in stores and need to be bought online or via the telephone from the company (similar to a LandsEnd.com), and Melaleuca's products tend to be slightly more expensive per bottle
