Cetaceans, the zoological order including whales, dolphins and porpoises, have a streamlined, bilaterally symmetric shape. They all possess flukes (horizontal, flattened tail structures at the end of the caudal peduncle) and pectoral fins (which vary in size and shape). They may or may not possess dorsal fins, with variations ranging from the tall dorsal fin of the orca ("killer whale") to the absent dorsal fin of the beluga whale and others.
