Whats wrong when my 1989 5.0 mustang powers up but won't start?

could be a number of things

bad starter

blown fuse

bad bearing in one of the pulleys like the compressor

just to name a few but id check those first starting with the fuses and relaying dealing with cranking. if it trys to turn over and the battery is good but will not start then check pulleys.
