Why have school children become lazy?

In my experience schoolchildren have not become lazy. Education has, I think, become less effective over the last thirty years or so, but the reasons for that are complex. Other people may have different views. Joncey I totally agree with Joncey. The Educational System in both the U.S. and Canada is lax at best. Teachers seldom stay after school to help those students that are having difficulties (like they use to do up until the 1970's.) The Educational System has not had it pounded into their head enough that some children learn quickly by reading instruction while other children need to be shown. This method has nothing to do with whether one child is smarter than another. I am appalled that children are coming out of schools and can barely read and the spelling is atrocious and that means the School Board isn't doing their job!
