Why does the Parking brake on 1993 ranger not work?

Light bulb could be out. Just about every warning light (parking brake on, check engine, etc) have their own little bulbs. Take off the front dash panel (snaps in and out. only bolts are on either side of the opened ash tray). Take out the screws holding the cluster in and reach around and take out he bulb and check it. I just did this and it was not complicated.

Else could be a fuse.

Else could be the switch. If you look behind the parking brake foot pedal bracket, it engages a little switch. Maybe check that and make sure its situated correct and that the single wire that goes to it is plugged in.
